A number of interesting initiatives and projects are programmed with a view to placing children and young people at the centre of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme. Supporting the Department of Education and Skills programme with schools in the county, events linked to Comhairle na nOg, folklore and local history and special productions relating to 1916 from both the Roscommon County Youth Orchestra and Roscommon County Youth Theatre are just some of the avenues to support the educational programme element. Intergenerational events and projects linked to genealogy services and youth/ elderly networks also form programme content.
